The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the arrest of an alleged internet fraudster, (Yahoo boy). The fraudster was apprehended for confining a young lady in an Abuja hotel for money rituals.
The Command stated that fraudster (Yahoo boy) whose name was not stated, was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
This was contained in a statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, on Thursday night.
However, she said the police are currently awaiting the NSCDC to hand over the suspect to the Command.
IVNTV NEWS reports that a video clip capturing a young lady confined in a room with her legs tied emerged on social media on Thursday.
The lady it is allegedly was confined by her boyfriend at the Top View Hotel, Wuse, Abuja, for a money ritual.
“Findings revealed that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken the suspect into custody. And are yet to hand over to the police for diligent investigation.
“The FCT Police Command, for all intents and purposes, awaits the NSCDC to hand over all parties to the police. For the commencement of diligent and discreet investigation.
“Further developments will be communicated in due course,” the PPRO stated.
