Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the military for the strings of successful operations it has recorded against banditry and terrorism attacks in the northern part of the country of late. This is even as the President pledge sustained support to the security operatives.
According to Tinubu the success of the operations gives further assurance that the security operatives were up to the task in ensuring the peace and security of the nation.
Recall that a formation of the military, Operation Hadarin Daji, on Thursday, neutralized a wanted bandit leader, Halilu Sububu.
Reports stated that Sububu had been unleashing terror on citizens in Zamfara, Sokoto, and other parts of Northwest Nigeria.
In the series of successes recorded lately by the operatives is killing of another terrorist, Sani Wala Burki in a Joint Operation in Katsina. The formation also busted a terrorist enclave in Kaduna, where 13 kidnapped students were freed.
These chains of successful operations followed President Tinubu’s directive to the Service Chiefs to relocate to the zone. The President mandated them to remain there until normalcy is restored.
However, following the successes recorded within few weeks, President Tinubu commended the military high command, the intelligence agencies and the troops for their valiant efforts, synergy and dedication, which have resulted in the recent laudable outcomes.
Tinubu also commended the entire security apparatus for the improved security in the nation. He, however, enjoined them to sustain their efforts until immediate and latent threats are permanently eliminated.
The President reassured the security agencies of his continued support. He noted that his primary objective is to secure and keep the nation safe from bandits and terrorists.
