The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, has revealed the three most affordable States to live in Nigeria during this period of economic hardship.
According to the Bureau the States are Benue, Delta, and Borno.
This was contained in the NBS July’s Consumer Price Index and Inflation Data released on Thursday. The Data showed that Benue, Delta and Borno recorded the slowest rise in Headline Inflation on a year-on-year basis.
Benue’s headline inflation, according to the report, stood at 27.28 percent. While Delta recorded 28.06 percent and Borno 28.33 percent on a year-on-year basis.
On a month-on-month basis, NBS stated that Taraba, has 0.17 percent. While Kwara and Ondo States recorded the slowest headline inflation rise of 0.62 percent and 0.91 percent respectively.
In contrast, Abuja 3.91 percent, Borno, 3.84 percent and Enugu 3.76 percent recorded the highest increases.
Recall that IVNTV NEWS reported that, according to data released by NBS, Nigeria’s headline inflation fell to 33.90 percent in July. The first since 2022, when it stood at 21.34 percent.
Also, NBS reported that reduction in the prices of food items such as garri, fufu and others pushed food inflation to drop in July. The reduction recorded 39.53 per cent from 40.87 per cent in June.
Recall that Nigerians embarked on a nationwide hunger protest to force the government to take drastic action against the economic hardship in the country.
