The Nigerian Police Force will today, Monday, hold the Police Youth Summit to commemorate the UN International Youth Day, 2024.
The commemoration was contained in a statement by the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.
The IGP stated the Police to organize the Police Youth Summit, 2024 to commemorate the UN International Youth Day on August 12, 2024.
He also reaffirmed the Police’s commitment to recognizing the pivotal role of the youths in national security and the general development of the country.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, August 11, by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi: “Preparations for the Nigeria Police Youth Summit are in full swing. And we eagerly anticipate engaging with young and brilliant minds from across the country.
“The summit promises to be an enriching experience. Featuring thought-provoking discussions on youth empowerment, national security, and intelligence. The guest keynote speaker is the former Vice-Chancellor, coming from the Lagos State University, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagboun.”
The PPRO added that the summit will also include interactive sessions on crime prevention, conflict resolution, and community engagement. He also maintained that it will provide a platform for youths to share their ideas and perspectives.
“Additionally, innovative solutions developed by Nigerian youths will be showcased, highlighting their creativity and potential.
“We invite all stakeholders to join us at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, Abuja, on August 12, 2024, as we celebrate International Youth Day.
“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, will make a special appearance. This is to underscore the dedication of the Nigeria Police Force to empowering youths.
“Together, let us build a safer, more secure Nigeria by harnessing the energy and talents of our young people.”
