Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo has revealed what he discussed with the Southeast Governor in Enugu on Tuesday.
The former President who was in the Coal City on the invite of the Southeast Governors Forum disclosed that the issue of releasing Nnamdi Kanu was not part of his discussion.
According to reports, the former President and Chief Emeka Anyaoku met with the Southeast Governors on their own invitation. They were invited to discuss regional development issues of the Southeast.
Obasanjo, however, added that the purported planned release of Kanu by the Federal Government was not part of it.
This was contained in a release by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Wednesday. He stated that the regional development issues; including that of security and infrastructure were discussed.
“Others were economic and cooperative/collaboration, which was meant to complement the National Economic Development Agenda.”
“The meeting with them was at my invitation and of Chief Emeka Anyaoku before their summit begins. The issue of Nnamdi Kanu was not on the agenda. And it was not discussed in my presence,” Obasanjo was quoted as having said.
Recall that the Southeast Governor rose from the summit with the intent to visit President Tinubu on Nnamdi Kanu release.
