The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Kaduna State Chapter has lamented the rising cases of the kidnapping of its members by bandits in the State.
This was contained in a message sent to all members of the Association across the State by the Pubic Relations Officer of the Kaduna Chapter of NMA, Dr. Shuaibu Joga Joga.
In the WhatsApp message seen by IVNTV NEWS, the Medical Association bemoaned the kidnapping of its members.
According to Joga, NMA received with rude shock the turn of events with regards to one of our member whose wife and 4 children were kidnapped on 23/06/2024. The doctor’s family was kidnapped at his residence while he was away in Kano for an official assignment.
The PRO stated that following the incident the Association we visited their member and interacted with him. “He informed us that the kidnappers had made a demand of N300 million to secure their release.
“While the security agencies had been informed and negotiations with the kidnappers ongoing, we received the shocking news today that the first son was killed. This is to force payment of the said sum.
“In response, we are calling for an emergency SEC meeting today and a press conference. And to further call on the authorities to expedite action on securing their immediate release. And also to release our other doctor kidnapped 6 months ago.
“We call for calm from members and request all to stay safe. While we engage the necessary security organs to end this needless unwanted evil,” the statement read.
