The Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has intensified his resolve to fish out those behind the gruesome murder of five Nigerian soldiers in Obikabia Junction, Aba, Abia State on May 30.

Recall that the Governor had on the heels of the killings pledged a N25 million bounty on information on the identities of those behind the attack.

But weeks after no information on the killers the Governor on Firday, raised the money to N30 million.

The Abia State Governor disclosed this during a meeting with top military brass in the State on Friday.

Those in the meeting included the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Hasan Abubakar, the Commander 14 Brigade Ohafia, Brigadier General O.O. Diya, and other top military officers.

The meeting according to source, took place at the Governor’s country home in Isiala-Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State.

Speaking at the meeting, Governor Otti said Abia State under his watch is a no go area for terrorist, killers, kidnappers and other criminals.

He also used the occasion to appreciate the unwavering commitment of security operatives in the fight against crimes.

The Governor, however, explained that the increase in the bounty was made available by an by an indigene of the state based in the U.S.A.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Hasan Abubakar thanked the Governor for his efforts to fighting insecurity in the State.

Abubakar said the Nigeria Air Force is seeking ways to explore opportunities and collaboration with the Abia State Government. He, therefore, promised to continue the synergize with other security agencies to ensure the security of life and property in the country.

Recall that Governor Otti last week placed a N25 million bounty on the killers of five soldiers in the Aba area of the state. He made the pledge while on a condolence to the Chief of Army Staff, Taoreed Lagbaja over the incident.

Gunmen who were enforcing the sit-at-home order on Thursday, May 30, stormed the military unit at Obikabia Junction, Ogbor Hill, Aba. They killed five soldiers on duty and also burnt the unit as well as a patrol van parked in the unit. Some soldiers were alleged to have escaped the attack by the gunmen.
