The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to empowering Local Governments administration in Nigeria. Describing his one-year in office as a groundbreaking move that has impacted positively on Communities at the grassroots level.
ALGON also called the President; a game-changer for grassroots communities.
The Association made the statement during the commemoration of Tinubu’s first anniversary as President of Nigeria.
Speaking on Wednesday, May 30, ALGON National President, Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata, congratulated President Tinubu on his commitment to grassroots development. He also praised his democratic and supportive approach to local government development.
According to the statement, ALGON acknowledged the President Tinubu’s efforts to addressing the long-standing constitutional challenges hindering effective Local Government administration in Nigeria.
The Association, however, expressed eagerness to witness the continued impact of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Maifata said: “We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with Mr. President. Who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to empowering Local Governments and enhancing grassroots development.
“His leadership has been a game-changer for our communities. And we are eager to see the continued impact of his Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We believe that the President’s commitment to resolving these challenges will have a profound impact on the lives of Nigerians and the development of our nation as a whole.”
Maifata noted that Tinubu’s support for Local Government development dates back to his tenure as Governor of Lagos State.
He said, “The President’s understanding of the importance of Local Government in driving national progress is unparalleled. And we are grateful for his unwavering support.”
The ALGON President, however, extended the association’s full support to the Tinubu’s administration. He expressed optimism that the remaining challenges will be addressed and resolved under his leadership.
Maifata, therefore, reaffirmed ALGON’s commitment to collaboration and progress.
“We stand ready to work with the President and his team to ensure that Local Governments continue to thrive. And to play their critical role in building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria,” the ALGON President stressed.
