Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Owelle Okorocha, on Monday charged the Federal Government to honour the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah with the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
The former Imo State Governor made the appeal during a night of tributes held in the late Senator’s honour on Monday in Abuja.
According to Okorocha, dead Igbo leaders are meeting over Kanu’s release.
Okorocha, therefore, urged Senate President Godswill Akpabio to convey the message to the Federal Government.
IVNTVNEWS recalls that Ubah died in a London hospital on July 27 and will be laid to rest on November 22.
Okorocha said, “I want to say to you, my brother in whom I am well pleased, Senator Akpabio, convey this message to FG on behalf of the Igbos seated here. That the best way to honour Ifeanyi Ubah is to release Nnamdi Kanu. So, that the Igbo can go home and re-organize their place. And I know you, Senator Akpabio that even if you don’t want to do it, send this message for the sake of your wife who is our daughter. Send this message and get us a result, or else your wife is not too far from taking back home.
“I’ve not died before, and I don’t intend to die soon. But I do know that the great Ikemba Ojukwus, the Ekwuemes and those other great leaders of note who have left us. And since the spirit never dies, I’m sure they are having a meeting somewhere over the release of Nnamdi Kanu.”
