The Abia State Independent Electoral Commission has promised to deliver a free and fair Local Government election. This is even as the Local Government election in the State is 11 days away.
The assurance was given at the stakeholders meeting called by the Commission in Umuahia, the Abia State Capital.
A statement signed and released by ABSEIC Chairman, Professor George Chima, on Monday, announced that the meeting is scheduled for October 31. It stated that the Commission aims to align strategies and promote transparency during the election. And therefore, promised to conduct a free and fair election in the State.
“The meeting is intended to ensure all participants are prepared to support the effective administration of the elections. Which will cover everything from logistics to security arrangements.
“The Commission emphasized the importance of this pre-election briefing, urging all invited stakeholders to prioritize attendance. As the State finalizes key aspects of the election day process.
“This significant gathering, scheduled for Thursday, October 31, at ABSIEC headquarters in Ogurube Layout, Umuahia, will bring together various stakeholders from across Abia to align strategies for a transparent and smooth election process.
“The meeting is crucial for discussing our readiness for November 2. And identifying any areas needing immediate attention to prevent disruptions,” the statement concluded.
