The crisis that have bogged down the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP seem to be over following statement by the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed on Tuesday.

The Bauchi State Governor who made the assertion at the private wing of the departure lounge of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Mohammed disclosed Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have resolved the crisis in the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

The Governors’ Forum Chairman who was with the acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Ilyas Damagun, said the crisis have been resolved.

Addressing journalist at the airport, he affirmed that the crisis was over. He stated that the suspended NWC members are fully back in office with the restoration of the status quo ante.

“The PDP Governors’ Forum, Board of Trustees and the National Assembly Caucus collectively resolved that everyone in the PDP NWC should return to their positions,” he said.

Recall that PDP have been besieged by crisis following the suspension of acting National Chairman, Damagun and the National Secretary, Anyanwu.

In their place a faction of the National Working Committee of the party appointed the National Treasurer, Yayari Mohammed as acting National Chairman.

However, a Federal High Court in Abuja reinstated Damagun. The court in its judgment prevented PDP from appointing any other person to the position.

Damagun had on Monday asked the Nigerian security operatives to arrest Yayari Mohammed. He stated that Mohammed should be stopped from parading himself as the acting National Chairman.
