The protesters under the aegis of “Fearless In October” are protesting over what they termed as bad governance in Abuja, Nigeria.

CHANNELS TV reports that the protesters had gathered at the Utako area in Abuja, the country’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Tuesday.

They were seen  waving the Nigerian Green and White flags. They were also carrying banners with various inscriptions such as “EndBadGovernance”, “DiasporaVoting” and “EndHighLivingCosts”, amongst others.

The protesters were however, confronted by stern looking police officer who fired teargas, which dispersed  them.

The trigger effects of the two demonstrations is the grinding economic hardship being experienced by many in the country.

Many have fingered President Tinubu’s removal of the petrol subsidy and devaluation of Naira as the cause of the hardship. Therefore, many of young youths are demanding a reversal of petrol subsidy removal and electricity tariff increase.
