The atmosphere of Sokoto State was engulfed with jubilation following the news of the demise of a notorious bandit, Kachallah Buzu.
Buzu has been terrorizing residents of Northwestern part of the country for some years. He was, however, eliminated by gallant troops in Zamfara State.
According to reports, the residents who sighed a breath of relief, praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the military authorities.
While praising the military operatives for the elimination of Buzu, they prayed that another notorious bandit in the area, Bello Turji be captured and eliminated as well.
This was disclosed to newsmen in Sokoto by the Chairman, Coalition of Young Traders, Alhaji Aliyu Shugaba Maiyadi. He praised President Bola Tinubu and the military authority for the feat.
Maiyadi noted that President Tinubu is more than serious to contain banditry in the Northwest and Nigeria.
“With this development, it is clear that the President is more than serious. And pray that the military will sustain to subdue the criminal elements in our society,” he said.
Maiyadi also hailed the bravery and swift action of the military in the elimination of the notorious criminal. He, therefore, expressed their gratefulness to the gallant efforts of the security operatives.
Maiyadi expressed relief that the operatives have brought an end to the reign of terror unleashed by Kachallah Halilu Buzu Sububu and his cohorts.
He, therefore, described the victory as a testament to the unwavering commitment of Nigerian military to wards protecting the lives and livelihoods of the citizens.
“People of Sokoto State has indeed expressed their gratitude to the Minister of State Defense, Mohammed Bello Matawalle. The Nigerian Army and all other security agencies over their patriotic commitment to end the security challenges in the region.
” Recall that just recently, the State Minister of Defense, Dr. Bello Mutawalle was here along with Chief of Defence Staff and other Service Chiefs. They came on the directives of Mr. President to relocate to Sokoto and use it takes to contain banditry in Sokoto, Zamfara and other States in the Northwest ”
“We must be grateful to the President, State Minister of Defence. And of course, the military authorities for their swift action and achieving this feat,’ the Chairman said.
He, however, assured of the people’s support and prayers for the ongoing assaults against bandits and their hideout.
“The people of Sokoto State and surrounding communities can now breathe a sigh of relief. Knowing that the military is steadfast in its resolve to protecting them.
Maiyadi noted that the victory is a morale booster. He, therefore, urged the troops to continue their relentless pursuit of those who seek to harm innocent people.
“The successful operation serves as a testament to the effectiveness of the military’s strategy and its commitment to rid the region off banditry.
Recall that in a daring operation on Thursday, the military launched a massive assault on the bandits’ hideouts in Zamfara State. The assault resulted in the killing of numerous bandits, including Kachallah Halilu Buzu.
“The notorious bandit had, just hours before his death, called for a united front against the military. He had urged his fellow bandits to redirect their attacks.
