Suspected gunmen on Tuesday, attacked and killed no fewer than nine persons and injured one in Congo Community of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to Daily Independent, reports from Community stated that the injured victim is in a critical condition. This was even as he had been rushed to hospital for medical attention.
Daily Independent reports that the attack took place at the community’s market around 8 p.m. on Tuesday night. That was shortly after the market had closed for the day.
“The unfortunate incident took place when most traders and customers had left the Market premises, leaving only a few people behind, the report stated.
Recall that Plateau State has recently been at the spotlight of gunmen attacks in the State.
Therefore, the Tuesday attack is a resurgence of sad incidences that have created security tension in the State.
And of particular concern is the heightening insecurity in the Bokkos LGA of the State.
Daily Independent reported that the Plateau State Police Command, spokesman, DSP Alabo Alfred, could not be reached to confirm the incident.
