The US President and Democratic Party candidate, Joe Biden has doubled down on his pledge to stay in the White House race Friday. His recent stance is in defiance to the growing Democratic party revolt that raised speculation that he could bow out as soon as this weekend.

But Biden, said he is not stepping aside.

“The stakes are high, and the choice is clear. Together, we will win.”

This was contained in a statement made by Biden Delaware beach home where he is in Covid isolation.

He added, “I look forward to getting back on the campaign trail next week.” This is as his doctor said the President was bouncing back from the symptoms of the disease.

Recall that Biden’s political health has appeared to be in far worse shape. This has caused nine more House Democrats and one Senator joining the list of lawmakers publicly calling on him to quit. They fear the President might not be able to match the Republican candidate, Donald Trump in the November’s election clash.

Many pundits and Democratic Party loyalists have described Biden’s presidential debate performance against Trump as disastrous.

This has triggered panic about Biden’s age and health. More than 30 House Democrats and three Senators have now called on him to drop out.

Reports also show that top Democrats have also expressed concerns of Biden chance at the November election. This is even as, polls showing the Republican candidate on course for a return to the Oval Office. Also Biden’s fundraising drying up and the walls appeared to be closing in.

NBC News reported that some of Biden’s family had “discussed what an exit from his campaign might look like”. Although there was no final decision to do so.

In case of any eventuality, Vice President Kamala Harris, has started holding an emergency call with donors on Friday.

Harris is the frontrunner to succeed Biden as the Democratic presidential candidate if he does drop out.

But Biden’s campaign have also pushed back against reports that he would bow out. The stated that while there had been some “slippage” in support, Biden was still the best candidate.

“Absolutely the President’s in this race,” campaign chairwoman Jen O’Malley Dillon told MSNBC’s Morning Joe program.
