The Poultry Association of Nigeria, PAN, South West Chapter, on Friday praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the establishment of the Ministry of Livestock Development. This is even as the association stated that the ministry will end hostilities between farmers and herders in the country.
This was contained in a statement by the PAN’s Southwest Zone Chairman, Rev. Gideon Oluleye. The Chairman, therefore, lauded President Tinubu over the initiative and establishment of the ministry.
“The Association stated that the establishment of the new Ministry “serves as a clear demonstration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s determination to end the on-going hostilities between farmers and herders. “Which have hampered economic growth and jeopardized national unity.”
PAN stressed that the Ministry of Livestock Development was a “visionary leadership move meant to address the long-standing issues in the agriculture sector.”
“This development is a significant step towards addressing the lingering issues between farmers and herders.
“And the poultry association sees this as the government’s commitment to finding a lasting solution to the lingering crisis rocking the Nigerian agricultural sector,” the statement read in part.
On the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Livestock Reform Implementation Committee, PAN noted that it “demonstrates the government’s dedication to finding a comprehensive and sustainable solution to the issue.”
