The Niger State Police Command has dismissed media reports of an explosion at the Zungeru Dam in Niger State.
Recall that social media and some online publishers raised the alarm the an explosion occurred at the Zungeru Dam.
But the Nigerian Police has come out to dispel the rumour.
The Niger State Police spokesman Wasiu Abiodun on Monday said the reports of such incident were misinformation.
He, therefore, urged the public to disregard the false claims propagated by some online media outlets (not IVNTVE NEWS).
The police spokesman, emphasized that there has been no incident of explosion at the dam. He, therefore, labelled the reports making the rounds as entirely baseless.
Abiodun pointed out that Niger State has not been thrown into darkness as falsely reported.
The police spokesman stated that the situation at Zungeru Dam remained normal. He, therefore, reassured the public that there was no cause for alarm.
Abiodun, however, called for the cooperation and understanding of the public. He urged them to always rely on verified information from credible sources.
