Notwithstanding the controversy that has trailed the release of the list of successful candidates into the police force, the Police Service Commission, PSC, says the list stands.

Recall that the PSC recently released a list of successful candidates that passed the Force recruitment exercise.

But upon the release of the list, calls from some quarters said the list was manipulated. Therefore, it should be discarded.

But PSC has waved off the allegations and insisted that it would not cancel the list.

The PSC disclosed this in a statement signed and issued on Tuesday by the Head of Press and Public Relations of PSC, Ikechukwu Ani.

IVNTV NEWS recalls that the Nigeria Police Force, NPF had alleged that the recruitment process was marred by corruption. The Force stressed that the final list contained names of people who never applied.

Following the controversy, there were reports that PSC succumbed to pressure from the NPF and cancelled the final list.

However, on Tuesday, the Police Head of Press stated that list stands.

According to him, the statement that the list has been cancelled did not emanate from PSC. “Therefore, we urge the public to disregard the same,” he said.

Ani also insisted that the recruitment exercise was conducted in line with relevant guidelines and provisions of the law.

He stated that the Commission had just concluded a routine maintenance of its portal containing the list of the successful candidates.

He said, “The Commission is in control of the situation and has since restored the recruitment portal with its original contents.

“Successful candidates are advised to ignore this deliberate antics of desperate groups bent on destroying the good work of the Commission.

“The Commission is committed to giving the nation a merit based and inclusive recruitment exercise.

“It will continue to ensure that Federal Character, gender sensitivity and merit are the bedrock of its recruitment process.”
