The people of Anioma Isu Autonomous Community in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have elected and coronated their new traditional ruler, His Royal Highness, Eze Wisdom Chukwuma Okoye. The coronation is coming after 19 years, the Community has stayed without a traditional ruler.
The colourful event, which took place at the Community’s playground, was graced by people from all walks of life. Prominent among those that witnessed the event were especially the Chiefs, Elders, Ozo title holders and kingmakers.
According to reports, the election and coronation of Okoye as the traditional ruler of Anioma Isu Autonomous Community were borne out of the love the people of the community have for him.
Speaking during the event, some stakeholders of the Community described Eze Okoye as a tested and trusted leader. They maintained that his desire to become a traditional ruler was driven by the well-being of the people of the community. They therefore, congratulated him for emerging as the traditional ruler of Anioma Isu Autonomous Community.
The people also used the opportunity of the occasion to thank him for always taking good care of the people of the community.
This they stated he had done through his empowerment schemes, construction of bridges, and grading of internal roads. He has also embarked on numerous life-touching programs and projects in the community that have touched the lives of the people.
Responding to the goodwill of the people, the newly crowned traditional ruler, Eze Okoye, expressed his appreciation to the people of the community. He thanked them for finding him worthy to serve as their traditional ruler.
Eze Okoye, therefore, promised that he would replicate the leadership style of the State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, in the discharge of his traditional leadership.
Okoye also promised to be fair and inclusive in leading the people of Anioma Isu autonomous community. He, however, solicited the cooperation of the people. This, he said, would enable him to pilot the affairs of the community with great zeal and commitment.
