Anxiety pervaded the atmosphere of the ancient Kano city as reports emerged that the sacked Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero on Tuesday invited all the district heads in the State’s emirate to durbar. This is the traditional event held to commemorate Sallah celebration.

The invitation was contained in a circular issued on Tuesday by s Councilor in the Emirate, Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, Galadiman Kano.

The circular directed all the district heads of the Emirate to proceed to the palace along with their village heads, their praise singers and horse riders.

The circular reads: “We are directing all the district heads of the Emirate to come along with their village heads, their horse riders and phrase singers for the festivities.

“Also we are directing all the district heads to converge at Aminu Ado Bayero’s palace at Gidan Nassarawa on Saturday, Zulhijjah 9, 1445 equivalent to June 15 at 11. am for further directives without delay or insubordination.

“After the day’s court sitting, the emir will meet with all the district heads at the palace’s hall at Gidan Nasarawa. Where he intended to shed light on how this year’s durbar activities will roll out.”

IVNTV NEWS reported that there has been litigation against Emir Ado Bayero by the Kano State Government for his refusal to relinquish the throne.

This is after the State Government reenthroned Sanusi Lamido as the Emir of Kano Emirate.
