Russia has described the unprecedented trial of former US President, Donald Trump for falsifying business records by the White House as “eliminating” its political rivals.
The Kremlin made the statement on Friday following Trump conviction on hush money case on Thursday.
With the conviction, Trump became the first former US President ever convicted of a crime. The former President and Republican Party candidate in the November Presidential election was on Thursday convicted after a New York jury found him guilty of 34 felony charges in a hush money case.
But responding to the judgment, Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov told reporters that it was a systematic elimination of political rivals.
“The fact that a de-facto elimination of political rivals by all possible legal and illegal means is going on there is obvious,” Peskov said.
