The Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf has revealed that the judge that ruled to stop the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano is in the US.
The Governor stated this while presenting a letter of appointment to the reinstated Emir of Kano, Sanusi II.
Speaking in Hausa language, the Governor said the judge who gave the court order stopping him from dissolving the Kano Emirates created by the previous administration is in the US.
Recall that Governor Yusuf on Thursday reinstated Lamido Sanusi after four years he was dethroned as the Emir of Kano Emirate.
The reinstatement followed Governor Yusuf’s signing into law the Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) Bill 2024.
But in the wake of the development, a Federal High Court in Kano issued an ex-parte order. The court ordered the Governor not to reinstate the former disposed Sanusi II.
However, the Governor on Friday, presented appointment letter to Sanusi at the Government House.
Speaking on the court order stopping the reinstatement, the Governor alleged that the judge in in the US.
The judge who was out of the country had no right to stop what the State Assembly had done. The House followed due process,” the Governor said.
