The operatives of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service, NHFSS, Imo State Command have revealed how they recovered a Toyota Avalon saloon car in a forest in Imo State, Southeast, Nigeria.
The operatives stated that car suspected to have been abandoned by kidnappers was discovered in forest at Nekede/Iheagwa forest, Owerri-West, of Imo State.
The disclosure was made by the Imo State Commander of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) Dr. Iwuoha Fabian Onyebuchi. He said the Command got intelligence report from a poultry farmer near the Nekede/Ihiagwa forest that kidnappers drove into the forest with their victims.
Onyebuchi, stated that upon the receipt of the report, his men immediately swung into action. And upon search in the area, discovered the car.
He said, “On getting to the forest, they saw an abandoned Toyota Avalon car. And suspected that the kidnappers must have taken the occupants into the depths of the forest.
Onyebuchi, however, stated that his men are still mounting surveillance in the bush in order to rescue the victims. He pointed that the recovered vehicle has been taken to the police station while the trail on the kidnappers continue.
The Commander equally informed that the Imo State Command of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) has foiled many kidnap attempts. He also added that NHFSS has continued to offer complimentary services in securing lives and property of Imo State citizens.
Onyebuchi disclosed that the outfit has been able to carryout their operations in Imo State with technical support from the Deputy Commander-General, Amb. Dr. John Metchie.
He also commended the Commander-General of the service Amb. Dr. Joshua Osatimehin for his support. He maintained that the C-C has provided a conducive atmosphere for the operations of NHFSS in Imo State.
