The Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, has banned what it described as unnecessary picture snapping’s and video recordings during the burial of Junior Pope.
According to the Guild, it would not allow what it described as unnecessary picture and video recording at the burial of late actor, Junior Pope.
Recall that Junior Pope died in a boat accident on April 10, 2024.
The AGN stated that all journalists and bloggers must be accredited by the deceased’s family for the burial.
This was contained in a statement the Guild’s President, Emeka Rollas. He made the announcement on Instagram on Tuesday.
The AGN President stated that 30 representatives from five States – Delta, Imo, Abia, Anambra, and Enugu – have been picked to attend the ceremony.
He revealed that the representatives will be provided with official T-shirts and transportation.
Speaking on arrangement for the burial of the fallen Nollywood actor, Rollas emphasized that only accredited photographers will be allowed to the burial.
Rollas warned that unnecessary taking of pictures and videos during the proceedings will not be allowed. He stated that all press and bloggers must be accredited by the family.
He wrote, “In preparation for the burial of our departed colleague, Jnr Pope, we have appointed 30 representatives each from these five State Chapters namely, Delta, Imo, Abia, Anambra and Enugu. And a conveying bus with the official T-shirts for each of the State Chapters.
“If you are within any of the mentioned States, please contact the Chairman, AGN of the State chapter.
“For those who want to go on their own, please, you may wish to reach us for your T-shirts.
“It is a devastating and sorrowful period for the Actors Guild of Nigeria. Therefore, we shall not indulge in any unnecessary picture. Or video recording that is not by the official photographers. All press/ bloggers must be accredited by the family.”
