The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has warned that it will continue to make the city uncomfortable for criminal elements.

The Command said it will continue to go after criminals operating in the Federal Capital Territory. It promised that it would not fail to bring criminals to justice.

The Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igwe, stated this while parading no fewer than 10 suspects for various crimes. These included car theft, armed robbery, one chance, amongst others at the FCT Command’s headquarters in Abuja, on Monday.

Speaking during the parading of the suspect, Igwe said; “As you continue to disturb the peace of the FCT we will continue to disturb you.”.

Displayed items recovered from the suspects included, 6 cars, N2,230,000, two locally-made cartridge rifles and one locally-made pistol. Other items are; one locally-made rifle, ten live cartridges, and six live ammunition, amongst others.

Igwe explained that one Anthony Chibuzo and another, stole three cars from the FCT. He maintained that criminals, however, transported cars to Lagos where they were sold with fake plate numbers.

He, therefore, called on FCT residents, to report cases of car theft promptly. The Commissioner, however, reiterated the Command’s commitment to recovering the stolen cars.

Igwe added that five other suspects who reside in Nasarawa State, were also arrested. He stated that they were nabbed for one chance and armed robbery activities in the FCT.

While answering questions from newsmen, most of the suspects denied being involved in criminal activities. However, one Shehu Abdullahi, confessed to the crime of armed robbery.

The Commissioner used the occasion to commend residents of the FCT for providing vital information to the police. He, however, appealed for more citizen participation to eradicate insecurity in the Territory.

The Commissioner also added that the Command had commenced an investigation into the death of one Khalid Bichi. He assured that the police would do everything to bring perpetrators of the death to book.
