More facts are beginning to emerge on reasons  behind the rift between the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja and the incumbent Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara.

Recall that the oil rich State, has been enmeshed in political crisis State since the turn of the new administration of Fubara.

The revelation as to the reason behind the rift between the two factions, was made by the Chief of Staff to Governor Edison Ehie.

Ehie said the problem in Rivers State began when a few political leaders sought exclusive control of the resources of the State.

The Chief of Staff made this disclosure on Saturday during the thanksgiving service for the Supreme Court victory of the Rivers State Governor.

Speaking at the event which took place at Ahoada East Local Government Area, Ehie warned that the Governor is capable of teaching his opponents a political lesson.

“The problem we have in the State is that 11 persons said they will control the resources of Rivers State. These 11 persons now called 20 others to allocate resources to themselves,” he said.

The event which took place on Saturday had people from all walks of life in attendance. They were gathered to celebrate Fubara’s victory at the Supreme Court four months after.

“The thanksgiving, which was held at Western County High School Ahoada, began with a choir performance. The programme was then followed by a sermon, with the preacher urging Governor Fubara to remain dedicated to serving humanity.

“After the Church service, the atmosphere shifted to politics. Where community leaders, women, youth groups, and loyalists of the Governor danced in jubilation.

Also at the occasion were State lawmakers backing Governor Fubara. The lawmakers were led by their newly elected Speaker Victor Oko-Jumbo.

Speaking at the event, the lawmakers pledged their support to the Governor and to work for his success.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor, the Chief of Staff gave the hint of tensions between Fubara and Wike.

He warned that despite Fubara’s youthful age, he has the capacity to teach his opponents a political lesson.

“We are going to teach them a lesson of political arithmetic. What that small boy will do to you, you’ll know that khaki no be leather (sic),” Ehie stated.

The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of N200,000 each to 65 small scale business owners. Also, N500,000 were given to each of the 13 Coordinators of the Simplified Movement by the Chief of Staff.
