The South West chapter of New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, has tasked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to save Nigerians from untold hardship. This is even as Nigerians are currently facing hard times as a result of the fuel scarcity.
The advise was contained in a declaration made by the party and signed by its Public Relations Officer, Kilamuwaye Badmus.
The statement which was obtained by IVNTV NEWS on Tuesday in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital.
Recall that Nigerians are groaning under the hardship of President Tinubu’s economic policies. Currently, Nigerians in most cities and towns across the country are witnessing scarcity of petroleum. This is even as prices of foodstuffs and sundry products have skyrocketed.
NNPP in its statement, said that many Nigerians have been experiencing untold hardship as a result of the scarcity of petroleum.
The party then appealed to Tinubu to urgently address the problem.
It stated, “Since the planned removal of the fuel subsidy has failed, the best thing for the APC-led administration is to carry out an urgent review of the policy. Nigerians have witnessed untold hardship in the past few days due to the scarcity of petroleum products in the country.
“Few filling stations selling fuel are doing so at cutthroat prices. If you are lucky enough to get commercial transportation, you should be ready to pay more than you already budgeted.
“This situation has shown that the said fuel subsidy removal by the Tinubu-led administration is a failure. A professional scam. Therefore, there is a need for an urgent review of the policy.
“This hardship, coupled with the high cost of food items, has put ordinary Nigerians in a tight corner. The APC – led Federal Government must put on its thinking cap and save the masses from this hardship.”
