The Abia State Police Command has arrested the suspected killer of an Abia State University, Uturu, ABSU, final year undergraduate.

This was stated by the State Police Command spokesperson Maureen Chinaka, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

Recall that the victim, Emmanuel Uche, was shown in a viral video where he was shot by two suspected cult members. The incident according to the video occurred in front a students’ residential quarters off-campus.

The video clip showed when the victim was been tracked by two suspected cultist. Upon getting to where the staggering boy was, and in trying to run for his life fell into a gutter. The assailants, however, got to him in the gutter and after the second person took a picture of the victim, the second shot him at close range.

Investigating the incident, the Assistant Superintendent of police, Chinaka, said the police authorities observed that the viral clip. She said the video showed the victim been killed by the hoodlums on 11 March.

She stated that the victim was murdered in front of a lodge known as Miracle Lodge in Uturu. The community where the University in Isuikwuato  local Government Area of Abia State.

The police spokesperson, however, informed that one of the killers of the student has been arrested. She said the suspect was arrested at Uturu at about 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.

According to Chinaka, the Police detectives from the Abia State Police Command had acted in response to a tip-off.

She said the suspect was one of the two persons spotted in the viral video clip murdering the victim.

Chinaka stated that “The suspect, identified as Emmanuel Victor, has confessed to the crime. “He is currently in lawful custody and will be charged to court.”

Recall that the gory murder of the victim, Emmanuel Uche had drawn wide outrage and condemnation.

The incident was said to be a reprisal attack by rival cult group in ABSU
